I've just created a new, second mailing list called the Specialty Mailing List.

You're probably thinking, "Why, Lincoln, did you do this? You already have a fantastic mailing list that tells me whenever Vortex is having a sale!"

Well. There are a number of customers who are telling me about a new release that they just special ordered from the States or direct from the label or from the UK or whatever and it upsets me to have to see the look on their face when I tell them Vortex could have gotten it for them cheaper. And faster. And without customs charges or delays. It just breaks my widdle heart to have to see it.

So, the list will be used to announce odd or limited or expensive items that we have access to that we won't necessarily bring into the shop as their salability is hard to gauge and they're non-returnable to our sources. Music junkies such as yourself can find out about these releases by reading each issue. See something you want? Hit reply and let me know. We'll arrange to do a special order of it and shoot you an email when it arrives.

You want the crazily-priced two CD Lee Hazlewood release on Rhino Handmade? We can get it.

Looking for either of the 8XLP box sets that YepRoc released of Robyn Hitchcock's music? We can get those too.

Like 45s? How about the 15 x 7" box set of Creedence Clearwater Revival's mono singles? Or The Velvet Underground's 7x7" limited edition singles collection? Or the 45x7" set of blues recorded by George Mitchell? Yep yep.

In the mood for a vinyl test pressing of Svarte Greiner's Man Bird Dress...? Limited to just 35 copies! Too bad. We can't get this anymore--but we did bring one in for a customer last year.

Anyway, you get the idea. The Specialty Mailing List will be mailed every time I see something super interesting that I'd love to stock, but can't because it's too darn expensive or obsure, but that you might want to own. Just so you're forewarned, the mailings could be often as I get dozens of emails from labels and distributors each week. All genres will be covered.
