Now here's a nice bit of news: I've been back and forthing with the wonderful Marissa Nadler about a CDR she's self-released. It contains covers of 17 of her favorite songs (she's sworn me to secrecy regarding the titles) and it looks like Vortex will be the only store in Canada offering them for sale. The only other way you'll be able to get one is directly from Marissa. She's pressed 500 so far and is considering doubling the run depending on demand, but won't do more than 1000. Each CDR has handmade cover art by Marissa which means each one is different. We should have them in the next 7 to 10 days. She sells them for us$13 plus shipping; I'll do my best to put them out for about $12.99. (Final pricing will depend on how much Customs dings me.)
