Update: Okay, late Thursday night, here's some more info:
1. Forgot to put the Warp releases on the list: Bibio / Clark split 12" and Flying Lotus 12". We have them.
2. re: White Stripes... Third Man have two distributors in Canada. We only deal with one of them. The one we deal with didn't get any White Stripes but were told (last Friday) that it was "possibly delayed due to shipping probs" and that they "may get it the week after RSD". Any other store that deals with this distro didn't get it either. Since I don't deal with the other distro, I have no idea if they got any and if, in turn, the stores that buy from them got any.
3. I'm told the Earth release was delayed but will definitely be coming next week. The same goes for Sonic Youth.
4. The following were on the list but we will not have them for sale: Panda Bear, Opeth. I apologize for this; completely my fault. However, the Panda Bear is identical to the regular release that came out last week except it comes with a t-shirt. The vinyl on both is clear. The t-shirt wouldn't have fit you anyway.
5. Our Grouper prize just got more interesting: Vortex is the only store in Canada that will have any of the new Grouper releases. I suspected that this was the case but got confirmation today. Those of you who pre-ordered it through the Speciality Mailing List should be getting your copies next week (still have to see how many are in the box). I'll email you when they arrive (they were shipped Monday). Not sure how many extra we'll have for the floor. Both titles had pressings of 1000 and received more orders than that and are therefore no longer available. If Liz represses, we'll of course get more. If you want to win this prize, you've got to buy RSD releases. You'll get one free raffle ticket with each RSD item you purchase during the sale--you have to ASK for them at the time of purchase (otherwise we run the risk of giving a prize to someone who doesn't care about this particular artist).
Initial Post
Okay, so we're heading into the home stretch. I've completely rewritten this post so it's a little cleaner.
This is the final post regarding our DVD and Vinyl sale for Record Store Day.
Please do not call the shop with RSD questions. There is nothing the store can tell you that is not answered in this post.
SALE
Note: CDs are NOT on sale. Only vinyl, DVDs, and Blu-Rays.
30% off April 16 and 17 (10am - 10pm Saturday; 11am - 6pm Sunday)
40% off April 18 and 19 (10am - 8pm)
50% off April 20 (10am - 8pm)
RECORD STORE DAY LIST
The following is a list of ALL of the items we will have for sale. Note that some of them are extremely limited and therefore we have very few. No, we cannot do holds. On RSD--Saturday--you may only buy ONE of each item. After Saturday, if you want to buy multiples, you're welcome to do so.
We have received all but one of our shipments. The final one is due Friday the 15th.
So, if it's in bold on the list below, we have it already (no, you cannot buy it before Saturday).
If it's not in bold, we have it on order but do not have it in our hands yet.
If it's not on the list at all, we do not expect it (some missing items we ordered and are not getting; some we didn't order).
Note that some of our customers are telling us that other stores are saying they don't know what they'll have. I assume they're hoping you like to gamble and will line up anyway. I promise you, if it is not on this list, we will not have it no matter what. If it is bolded on the list we will have at least one (the most we got of something was 30, least was 1).
If it's not bolded by midnight Friday, we will not have it Saturday.
