International Record Store Day
Record Store Day, Vinyl Restocking, and News about sealed CD titles
January 05, 2010 - 12:20 PM
Last year we had numerous requests to get involved in International Record Store Day. However, at the time, we didn't have a web site and a web site is a requirement to participate. Obviously, this year we're participating. This year the event falls on April 17th. We'll have more details as we get them.Speaking of vinyl, the following should hit the floor tomorrow night:
- Joanna Newsom - The Ys Street 12"
- John Phillips: John, the Wolf King of L.A.
- Various Artists - In Kraut Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 (2LP each)
- Various Artists - Deutschland Disco: Disco, Funk & Philly Anthems from Germany 1975-1980 (2LP)
- Various Artists - D-Funk - Funk, Disco & Boogie Grooves From Germany 1972-2002 (2LP)
- Harry Partch - The World of Harry Partch
- Charles Mingus - At Antibes
I will also be restocking the Mississippi Records stuff ASAP. The Clara Rockmore and Reverand Overstreet LPs sold out super fast. I also got emails from Spain and Western Canada from people looking for those titles.
Other titles that should arrive in the next week or two include the new Richard Skelton 2LP+CD, a Grouper/Roy Montgomery split, and Barn Owl's The Conjurer (MP3).
I mentioned previously that I was also going to be bringing in some sealed/new CDs in the new year. The success we've had with Mississippi Records, Type, Touch, SMTG Limited, and The Numero Group vinyl releases means I'm going to be bringing in CDs from smaller, niche labels, just like I did with the vinyl. However, we do have access to lots of major releases as well so if you're looking for something, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
