Maybe not much of a surprise to regular readers of the site but... Yes, we will be giving away a copy of the Third Man Triple Decker 12" as part of our Record Store Day event. Here's how it's going to work:

- On Friday November 26, 2010 only, for each piece of new vinyl you purchase (regular or RSD), you'll get one raffle ticket. For easy identification all new and RSD vinyl will have white price tags. Note that RSD items are limited to one each per title per person. Do not come in and grab a handful of Soundgarden 7"s and think you'll get one ticket for each one.

- Between now and close of business Friday November 26, 2010 only, you'll get one raffle ticket for every $20 you spend on anything except gift certificates (so new vinyl, used vinyl, CD, DVD, and Blu-ray purchases are all eligible).*

So, for example, if you come in on Friday and spend $95 after used vinyl is discounted and that includes 3 RSD items, you'll get 7 tickets (one for each RSD item and four for spending more than $80). If you purchase 3 RSD items and other stuff and your register total is $101, you'll get 8 tickets (one for each RSD item and five for spending more than $100). If you purchase just a single RSD 7" for $8.99, you'll get one ticket for the raffle. And yes, I do realize the RSD item is being counted as both a single item and as part of your total.

Seems complicated but... no, not really.

Now, here's one more thing. I can't say for certain at this point, but I suspect that multiple RSD items are going to be late to all stores. Last RSD, we didn't get the Wilcos until the week after RSD (we still have some if you didn't get one). Because of this, you will also get one raffle ticket for each RSD item you purchase between Saturday, November 27 and close of business Friday, December 3rd.* This should allow all the scraggler-product to come in and be processed and available for purchase. As these items arrive, I'll post them on the site. This also makes it a little more fair for some of our non-local customers who can't make it in Friday.

Note that sales on all RSD and new vinyl during this contest are final.

Then... after close of business Saturday, December 4th:

1. I'll put all the tickets in a bag and yank out one lucky winner.
2. The winning number will be posted on the front page of our web site by midnight Saturday, December 4th.
3. The winner has 48 hours to email me to say they're aware they've won. Email me. Don't call the store!
4. If the winner does not email me back within 48 hours or the prize is not picked up by close of business Saturday December 11th, I'll draw another number and repeat steps 1 - 4.

Sorry to impose the limits on pickup time and such but, after running a similar raffle in April, I've learned my lesson.

Note that them's the rules and I made them and I reserve the right to change them .... yadda yadda yadda legal jargon.

* for all purchases not on Friday November 26, you will have to ask for your raffle tickets at time of purchase. This is because many of our customers buying Blu-ray, DVDs, and CDs will simply not be interested in this vinyl raffle. If we start giving tickets to everyone, it decreases the chances that someone who is actually keen on the item will win it. It also rewards those of you who check the web site and Facebook regularly as well as our mailing list subscribers rather than someone who just randomly walked in. Trust me, this is to your benefit.
