It's that time of year again! Time for you to get great music, movies, and TV shows at awesome prices. Time for the staff to work their tails off and curse my name.

First off, Holiday Hours:

We will be CLOSED December 24, 25 and 31, as well as January 1.

THE PRE-CHRISTMAS SALE
On Sunday, December 23rd, we'll be open our regular hours: 11 am - 6 pm. Come in and save 20% off everything in the store. This means CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray, as well as new and used vinyl.

Spend $100* or more and we'll make it 25%. Spend $200* or more and we'll make it 30%.

This is a great way to finish your Christmas shopping and avoid our Boxing Day crowds. It is also the only way to save on new vinyl** as it won't be discounted during our regular sale.

* Has to be your total before tax.
** Does not apply to records you've special ordered and are waiting to be picked up.

BOXING WEEK SALE DETAILS
Our Boxing Week Sale begins at 10am on December 26th and ends at 6 pm on December 30th.

What will be discounted?
Used DVDs, CDs, vinyl, and Blu-ray will all be discounted. So, everything in the store except new vinyl.


The Case of the Disappearing Stock
NOTE that we will be removing stock from the floor at the end of each shift. This means that if you see something there one night just before we close, it does not mean it will be available the next morning at the bigger discount.

The pulling of stock will be gradual and build as the sale goes on.

Why are we doing this? Simple. There are some titles that it is pointless for us to sell our last copies of today if we'd buy them back tomorrow for a higher price.


The Case of the Appearing Stock
As daily sales clear up space on the floor, we'll be ADDING inventory as well. This will affect CDs only.

As is obvious, Vortex has a massive space problem. Over the course of the last few months we've had to remove or relocate entire sections and letters from the inventory. We'll be putting this stuff back out as space frees up, which means you'll be able to get it at great prices.


Planning on hiding stock?
Last year I caught a few customers hiding stock, hoping to come back days later and get it at a bigger discount. Obviously, I gave them an earful. This year, if the staff catches you hiding stock you will be permanently banned from Vortex. This means forever. Seriously.


Have stuff to sell us?
We strongly prefer that you not bring us your stuff to sell during our sale. It is simply too busy for us to properly deal with it.

AND, you should know that AFTER our boxing week sale is the BEST time to sell us stuff as it's when we're lowest on inventory and more open to titles we'd otherwise pass on. Thanks for your co-operation.

Note that we're on Facebook. LIKE us there to hear about occasional contests, freebies, one-day sales, and other things of interest to music- and movie-lovers and fans of the store.

We've also started uploading videos to Youtube which highlight incoming inventory. We obviously don't post everything we get there, but if it's a day I'm there and a large or interesting collection comes in, I'll highlight it this way. You can subscribe to our feed here.
