This week CD soundtracks are on sale for 40% off. There are rules, but they're simple:1) Only titles from the soundtrack wall and soundtrack bin, not from the new arrivals.
2) Titles in artist's sections are not elligble (ie, no Philip Glass, Mike Nyman, Sakamoto, etc.)
3) Movie soundtracks only--not broadway shows and musicals.
Sale runs up to and inclusive of Saturday November 14, 2009. Again, those on the mailing list got an extra day's notice on the sale (email was sent early Sunday morning). Sign up so you can get the jump on future sales.

Okay, so our first order of Numero Group LPs has arrived and will hit the shelves tomorrow (Saturday)! With a couple of exceptions, we basically brought in two of each of the titles and we're offering them at what we think is the best price in the city. If you know of someone selling them cheaper, we'd love to hear about it.
We've even managed to beat the big box stores and of course you don't have to pay shipping. For instance, Amazon offers the Light: On the South Side 2LP + Book for $58. We've got it for $54.99 Canadian. The 3LP Don't Stop: Recording Tap (AMG review) is $36.99 plus shipping from Amazon or $34.99 from us. We're also matching the label's prices on all the double LPs, but in local funds, so they're just $19.99 each, which is about $5 cheaper than any place I've seen them around town.
I can say with a heap of certainty and a total lack of hyperbole that if, on your Christmas list, you've got a fan of the blues who's got a turntable, there is no finer gift than the Light: On the South Side box set. It's a stunning piece of work. Two terrific albums and a glorious book of black and white photos. The book also has an afterward by photographer Michael Abramson and an introductory essay by novelist Nick Hornby.
Check out the trailer for Light: On the South Side. A video of the box and book itself is also below.

So we've got the new vinyl re-issue of Nirvana's first album, Bleach. The first pressing of this 20th Anniversary Edition is on white 180g vinyl. In addition to the original material, which is remastered from the original tapes, a second LP of a never-before-released live performance (complete!) from Feb 9, 1990 is included. But wait! There's more... a 16-page booklet with some great photos, and a download code so you can listen on your portable!
Get yours for $27.99 or pick it up at our competition for $30.

Okay, so compact disc box sets are on sale all this week, until Saturday, November 7, inclusive. 40% off. They were actually on sale starting this morning (Sunday), but you'd only know that if you were smart enough to already have joined our mailing list. I gave people on the mailing list an extra day's heads-up. That's what you get for being on the downlow. So sign up if you want to swing with the hip kids for our next sale. Otherwise, get your bad self into the store to save a heap o' cash on some great soul, jazz, folk, pop, rock, blues...
Fine print: Compact disc sets only (dvd sets not on sale); stuff currently behind the counter only (no multi-disc sets that are on the floor in the artist sections; no opera, etc.); no holds whatsoever--first come first served.
